The Swedish golf clothing brand Abacus widens its involvement in the Solheim Cup which will be played in Halmstad, Sweden the 14-16th of September. As well as the European team in the main competition Abacus will also be dressing the juniors in the Ping Junior Solheim Cup, which takes place a few days earlier. The collection is available throughout the year from retailers in Scandinavia, Europe and Canada.
Helene Alfredsson, the Swedish Captain of the European team, recently visited the course in Tylösand, Sweden with her French team colleague, vice Captain Marie-Laure de Lorenzi. At the same time they also tested the collection of competition clothes that Abacus have developed together with the leaders of the European team.
The team well equipped
Helen Alfredsson is very positive towards Abacus.
- We will be well equipped whatever the weather, she says. This is a collection that all the players will feel good in and it will create a strong team feeling. I’m very happy that Abacus was chosen.
- Our involvement with the Solheim Cup has already created a lot of attention, says Sven-Olof Karlsson who is Abacus’ Managing Director and has a handicap of 5. The competition is getting closer and the Solheim Cup Collection is already being sold in the golf shop at Tylösand. And from the start of the competition it will be available at many of our 750 retailers in Europe and Canada.
- Our concentration on combining functionality with exciting design has shown itself to be very strong base. We will do what we can to give Europe the best possible chance to bring back the Solheim Cup to Europe.
And the same goes for the juniors who meet their American opponents in Båstad, Sweden the 11-12th of September.
